Popular German Cities To Travel

Düsseldorf

When I think about Düsseldorf city, the first thing that comes to my mind is that it is the capital city of North Rhine-Westphalia. I always think about its very famous area Altstadt (Old Town). The area is trendy to city dwellers because it is near the Rhine River. Restaurants of different varieties you will find here like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Turkish, Arabian, Italian, and so on. This Altstadt area is also famous for numerous bars and clubs, with almost 300 bars you can find here. Other than Altstadt, Düsseldorf City is famous for its greenery. This city is greener than any other city in Germany.

Berlin

I don’t think I can explain more beautifully than you know about Berlin. Berlin is the city of dreams where people come to fulfill their dreams to come once in their lives. If you ask someone you know which 5 cities he will choose to visit at least in his lifetime, I’m sure with other cities, he will take the name of Berlin. Of course, it will, because this city achieved its position in history by having so many glorious activities and also some pathetic remarks. Other than these, Berlin is the hub of Europe as well as Germany. It is the city of love and the city of mixed culture. Berlin is famous for its rich history and for its museums. There are concerts all over Berlin where you can enjoy your vacation time with no boredom.

Munich

If you are a football fan, then I’m sure you have heard about Bayern Munich. Yes, it is! This football club is the club of Munich city which is the capital of Bavaria state. Munich is mostly famous for Oktoberfest which is one of the largest festivals in Germany. Every year more than 6 million visitors come to Munich from worldwide to enjoy this amazing festival. The Allianz Arena (football stadium) is the home ground of FC Bayern Munich, where you can enjoy your most awaited football match of your favorite clubs. The city has numerous architectural beauties. You will find so many museums here too which will attract you to visit and the hub of Munich is the city center which is very colorful and also very romantic for couples. If you want to travel with your partner, then Munich is an amazing place for a delightful vacation.

Frankfurt

You know Germany, but you haven’t heard about Frankfurt, it is not possible. When people think about Germany, if a few things come to their mind, Frankfurt will come to their mind for sure. In the aviation industry, it is the hub of Europe because it has the largest airport in Germany which is considered the aviation hub of Europe. Frankfurt is called the business capital of Germany too.

Cologne

One of the most attractive cities in Germany is Cologne. The main attraction is Cologne Cathedral. Every year over 6 million tourists come to visit this amazing city. The good news is, that you can visit so many attractive spots only by walking because they are very close to each other. You can simply visit the monuments area and also the famous museums within a few hours. The top four areas I recommend are the Cologne Cathedral, Cologne Old Town, Flora and Botanical Garden, and Rheinau Harbor.

Hamburg

If you want to discover the “Venice of the North,” which is the nickname of Hamburg, then you should visit Hamburg because it is a city with lots of canals and bridges. Hamburg is the second-largest city of Germany. If you want to grasp the natural beauty of Hamburg then Altes Land should be your first choice where you will get the essence of the old village with its natural beauty.

Leipzig

Leipzig is the center of commerce and trade fairs. It is the communication hub also. The Old Stock Exchange (Alte Handelsbörse) is one of the best tourist attractions today. It was built in the 17th century. The New City Hall (Neues Rathaus) is the highest city hall tower in Germany and one of the popular tourist attractions today.

Dresden

Dresden is the capital of the Saxony state. It’s not so far from Berlin. Czech Republic and Poland are the nearest borders of Dresden. It’s located by the banks of the Elbe river. Dresden holds the cultural heritage of Germany. It is also very famous for its amazing architectural building beauty. If you want to visit Dresden, my recommendation would be to visit the Old Town (Altstadt) first, where you will get the essence of the old city center. There you will find the museums and the old architectural beauty. Then the New City Hall (Neues Rathaus) would be the best choice for visiting. The new town holds so many cafes and shopping malls. You can get the true feeling of a city area if you love to roam around the city.

Nuremberg

One of the most captivating cities of Germany is Nuremberg which is situated in the heart of Bavaria state. When we talk about this city, so many thoughts come into mind, when I remember the name Nuremberg first thought that comes into my mind is The Nuremberg Trial. Yes, it is. The Historic Nuremberg Trial that everyone knows about. The Nuremberg Trials Museum will remind you of the pathetic story of World War 2 if you have an interest in it.

Bonn

Bonn is the former capital of Germany until 1990. Now it is the hub of business and culture. One of the biggest cities near the famous Rhine river of North Rhine-Westphalia. But Bonn is more than just the former capital of Germany. It is a city of arts and cultures. This city is famous for its widespread music festivals too. Bonn is the birthplace of the famous composer and pianist Ludwig van Beethoven who spread classical western music worldwide. Every year in September and October, the Beethoven Festival series of concerts takes place in Bonn.
